As I suggested at the last RG, I've been thinking both about what
courses to take over my next two years and what firms to look at for
my 2L summer/future.

As to the first, I'm thinking something like this: Copyright Law and
Trademarks next semester, so I have a baseline as well as getting to
know some of the IP professors; the Copyright Law in the Digital Era
Seminar with Niva Elkin-Koren in the spring, along with other courses
of relevance (PR in the fall, Evidence in the spring, Property, since
I have to, in the spring...). Also, my substantial writing, hopefully
in conjunction with the seminar.

3L year, Fed Courts, International IP Law, some Strandburg Cyber-IP
courses (of which there are none my 2L year), and maybe the Colloquium
on IP, depending on the topic. Any clinic work would be this year as
well.

I'm seriously considering trying for a clerkship--hence Evidence and
Fed Courts, and doing the writing 2L year. I'd also have a sprinkling
of other courses--Trusts & Estates, Income Tax, Corporations...the
kind of thing you sort of anticipate getting through law school having
taken.

As to firms...there I'm at much more of a loss. I'm from here in New
York City, but I'm interested in the West Coast--the Bay Area, Seattle
maybe...but I really don't know much (yet) about the options there. Of
course, I wouldn't turn down a good fit in NYC (or anywhere else,
really).

Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.
